Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival – DPIFF categorically rejects the recent false and malicious allegations made against the organisation and its leadership. These claims are entirely baseless and appear to be part of a calculated attempt to malign the reputation of the Festival and its key figures.
Leading up to the highly anticipated ceremony, originally scheduled for 20th February 2025 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, certain individuals engaged in an extortion attempt, issuing threats to disrupt the event unless their demands were met. When DPIFF stood firm and refused to yield, these individuals retaliated with fabricated accusations targeting Managing Director Mr. Anil Mishra and CEO Mr. Abhishek Mishra.
These incidents raised serious concerns for the safety of the organising team the esteemed guests and the Awardees of the evening, prompting the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the ceremony. DPIFF’s legal counsel has since taken firm action to challenge the false claims, which are now under judicial scrutiny.
In an official statement, Mr. Abhishek Mishra, CEO of DPIFF, affirmed:

These recent challenges have only strengthened our determination to stand by the truth with dignity. We are grateful to the Indian judiciary for its support, and to every artist, filmmaker and cinephile who has stood by us. We now look ahead to an even grander celebration of Indian cinema and the talent that shapes it.”

The Festival remains steadfast in its mission to honour cinematic excellence and elevate India’s creative voices on a global platform.
